Life Protector: Your Questions Answered
Q: How do I know this product is safe?
A: The Life Protector is underwritten by Global Benefits Europe B.V. and
is supported by some of the largest reinsurers in Europe.
Q: Who do I contact if I am not entirely satisfied or have questions or concerns?
A: You can do this by telephone, e-mail, fax or by letter. We treat our clients concerns
very seriously and it will be dealt with as quickly and efficiently as we possibly can.
Q: Are there any hidden fees?
Q: How does the policy renew each year and does the premium increase?
A: Once in force, your Life Protector policy will automatically renew at each subsequent
anniversary. However if you have changed your occupation or have changed your country of
residence then we may ask you to complete a form so that we can reassess our terms and
conditions. Your premium will increase as you age, these increases happen in five year
age bands, but from age 64 onwards it alters each year. We shall notify you prior to
renewal if there is any increase in premium.
Q: What Are The Premium Bandings?
A: Premium rates increase at renewal dates following attainment of age 44, 49, 54,
59 and 64, and then each year through to age 70.
Cover will terminate at the renewal date following attainment of age 70.
Q: I have lost my policy document, what should I do?
A: Please contact our customer services team and we will be happy to provide
you with a copy.
Q: I need to assign my policy, how do I do this?
A:Please contact our customer service team and ask for a deed of assignment
for underwriters consideration.
Q: Can my trustees own the policy?
A: Your Trustee will be identified as the Policyholder, with yourself as being
specifically named as the Insured Person.
Q: I want my trust to be the beneficiary, can this be done?
A: Yes. You can specify this within the on-line application or alternatively, if
it is after the issue of the policy, please contact us for the appropriate form.
Q: I want my company to own the policy, is this possible?
A: Yes. Your Trustee will be identified as the Policyholder, with yourself being
specifically named as the Insured Person.
Q: I want my company to pay the premiums, can they?
Q: Who do we contact in the event of a claim?
A: In the event of a claim please contact our customer services team who will
guide you through the process.
Q: I want to change the sum insured benefit, how do I do this?
A: Please contact either your financial advisor or our customer service team to
discuss your requirements.
Q: I would like a higher sum Insured than the system allows, how can I obtain higher amounts?
A: Please contact either your intermediary or our customer services department.
Please note that we may request further medical information from your doctor or
require you to undergo a medical examination. Any costs associated with this
will be your responsibility.
Q: I am moving country/changing my occupation, what should I do?
A: Please notify our customer services team as soon as possible as this may
alter the premium.
Q: I don't have a financial advisor , what should I do?
A: We shall be happy to refer you to a consultant within your area.
Q: What doctor do I visit if required?
A: Our customer services team will notify you of approved medical
practitioners and clinics.
Q: Can I alter my list of designated beneficiaries?
A: Yes you can please contact our customer services team.
Q: I have a new financial advisor, do I need to tell you?
A: Please ask your advisor to contact our customer services team.
Q: I don't need the cover anymore ,what can I do?
A: You can cancel the policy at any time however do consider how valuable
the cover is and also remember the policy has no surrender value.
Q: Where do I send papers to?
A: These should be sent to the London office.
Q: Are you offering me advice?(are you my financial advisor?)
A: We are not your financial planners and can only give you factual information
about our Life Protector Policy.
Q: I have a medical condition, how can this affect my application?
Our underwriters will assess your application and this can result in your
application either being accepted at normal rates, being accepted but on
revised terms, being accepted at a revised premium, being deferred for a
period of time or being declined.
Q: I am a little over/under weight, will this affect my application?
A: It may do. Our underwriters consider your height and weight in conjunction
with any other declared medical history.
